Electric guitar strumming?

OK SO i just got a 6 string electric guitar and i understand the frets and strings and i don’t know if theres a certin string you strum or do you strum them all when you play?im trying to play back in black…..and on the tabs when it says 0 for the fret# how do you do that? becasue where wud you put your finger on the E…the tab looks like this
E DDD AAA
e—-0—-2-2-2—-0-0-0
how would you do that?

0 is open u don’t fret anything u strum whatever it says to do
