I want to learn to play the Electric Guitar…?

I have never play any musical instrument but i still want to learn how to play the electric guitar since i like rock…. people are saying to start out with acoustic but i dont want that… i found a deal for a Maestro Single Cutaway Electric Guitar pak for $149.99 but im afraid i would never know how to play it so do u guys think a person with no instrumental experience can do it?

plunk around on your friends guitar and if you think you got a gift for it them go for it!!
It takes time. I picked up guitar with a basic knowledge of musical understanding and since then I have successfully played it for five years. It takes practice. I did not take lessons. Look online and have fun with it. Try Guitartricks.com
Take lessons if you can. You’ll need an amplifier too they’re from 50 to a couple thousand bucks.
Yeah dude, you can even teach yourself( I have even though I’m not that motivated). You should get some sheet music of songs you like, learn how to read them, and just go until you master some songs(and keep going of course).
ANYONE can play guitar. Go for it! You have to persevere but it is well worth it!
If you have the money, get a teacher. If you don’t, the internet is full of free lessons. And there’s lots of good books that will help you.
get some basic music books so you can learn notes and staff and all the other stuff for any instrument.
then get some books that show you chords
it honestly doesn’t matter what type of guitar you get. You learn how to play either way. so don’t listen to them

Any starter pack is going to be a cheap guitar that will work for a year, so then you can get another awesome guitar. Then you can smash the old one on stage. Anyway arrange lessons before you buy the guitar. If you don’t then it will just sit. Unless you turn out to be really talented you won’t get good just by learning tabs. Most any music store whether it’s guitar center or a local one will offer guitar lessons. Good luck! Beware of a-hole drummers and back stabbing lead singers!
Hmm…packs are good deals to start out with.
No matter how little natural talent you have, if you perservere you CAN learn guitar and become as good as you want.
No you don’t have to start on accoustic, I didn’t, I’m still good.
You can if you try hard and practice and dedicate to it.
If you think you can do that, then go for it.
hey,for christmas this year i got and electric guitar and i have no musical talent either. im kind of caught in the same position. so what i say is to get the guitar and do your best. im still trying. gettin a little better everyday. lol
but i say get it and try your best.
ps. get a guitar that comes with an amp. i did. and it works well.
you dont have to start out with an acoustic, i didn’t. electric is actually easier. anyways, anyone can play guitar if they really want to! lots of people say to take lessons, but i think it is a waste of time and money. there is a really great website that teaches you all the basics and lots of other stuff.
http://guitar.about.com/library/blguitarlessonarchive.htm this website teaches you how to tune it too! it is really great and i highly recomend it. it is what i learned on! if you want to learn to play, get ready to PRACTICE! it will hurt your fingers for a while until you get callouses on your fingertips. electric guitars dont hurt your fingers as much because it is easier to push down on the strings. if you find out guitar is not your thing, just take it back. anyways, just have fun. it is worth it!!!!!!!!!!!
