How to start playing blues guitar?

So, I’d like to learn guitar, but what is the best way? 1) Learn theory, chords, scales 2) Learn tablature 3) continue with my music lessons so i can play greensleeves? WHAT SHOULD I PRACTICE I HAVE NO IDEA 
Thank you for the advice. Right now I am knowledgeable with basic chords and strumming, I am classically trained musician but not on guitar, which is all Greek to me. I did start on an acoustic, and I agree that it is the best way to begin. Hard on the old fingers, but makes the electric seem like a dream!

1) and 3) and listen to a lot of blues until the structures and the conventions are second nature.
Well, first get a guitar, for beginning I recommend the good ol’ acoustic, none of the bells or whistles. Next play around with it until your fingers get comfortable with the action, fretboard, and after about a month get callouses. During this time you should learn the Major chords, like F, G,C and such. Now it’s time for music theory. Become comfortable with the circle of fifths and (optional) learn to read musical notations or at least tabs. Finally, learn seventh chords and you should be able to play the blues! (Ow!)
Some say that not taking lessons and teaching yourself is a good way to go. it takes longer but ends up better. bb king never learned a chord. good luck!
Start with the basics. Learn the chords and learn the scales to match those same chords. Here is a good site for you to get you started. If the strings are too hard on the acoustic, you can put light gauge strings which will make it easier to play and less hard on the finger.
