hey man, I messed up my hand playing too much and didn’t play for 2 years, I then had to relearn and learned classical style to learn the ‘right way’ to play, then adapted those principles to my electric playing. the best thing is to use a little guitar footstool and that will keep everything lined up good. when practicing for long periods, remember to relax, take little breaks while upping your metronome speed, and keep your wrist straight and not all crazy flexed in wierd positions all tense, remember to stay relaxed and everything straight… if it doesn’t feel right.. stop… analyze how you are sitting, your hand position, etc.. make sure everything is straight and re-adjust.
