i play rythm and wat ur doing is, yes, ur playing with the drums but ur also playing 2 the bass.
yeah that’s pretty much how music goes. The drummers the backboard of the band.
Usually the drummer and bass hold down the beat. Playing rythym is just keeping up with them. Although you can use some differing patterns. Playin on the upbeat or double timing, but you do have to stay with the main rythym of the song.
Basically yes. Playing Rhythm guitar is the same as playing lead guitar in the sense that you are talking about. even lead guitar has to play in sync with the rest of the band. you don’t always have to play the same beat but you have to keep the rhythm, hence the name “Rhythm guitar”. Beat is just the pace keeper. but rhythm involves a sound and mood. you know what i mean? Technically the whole band has to keep beat and rhythm with the rest of the band, however if in a song you want a what i call a,”disconnected,” sound to it (meaning the rhythm doesn’t match the beat but they still work) then your strumming doesn’t have to match the drumming at all. So basically yea you do keep the strumming in time with the drummers beat.
