what should I learn to play on an acoustic guitar?

I’m a just learning how to play guitar so nothing to hard please.
my favorite genre of music is rock
im learning from a teacher who wants me to come next lesson with some songs in mind I wanna learn how to play. However i dont have anything in mind so what do you think would be good?

    learn all of your open chord positions. The primary major chords are A,C,D,E,F,G learn these as well as the minor chords Am, Em, Dm and all of the 7th chord variations of these chords. With these chords you can play hundreds of basic songs. Go to your local music store and invest in some acoustic guitar song books by artists you like. (there are so many good books available I am sure you will find some you like!)
    I would also recommend taking lessons with a local teacher to help you learn these chords and how to use them effectively and much more as you get better. Lessons really are the best, easiest, and fastest way to learn the guitar
