is it easier to learn to play electric guitar or electric bass?

someone told me that electric guitar was easier, i want to pick up on of them, but i want to know which is easier

   The act of playing bass is easier, but the art of it is harder. Playing bass isn’t just plucking a string and keeping a beat, you have to have soul. 6 string is easier to play and harder to learn, so it is the complete oppisite.

   Bass is easier… however to be really good it is very very difficult.You have to feel the beat.
