Is it possible to learn Electric guitar from a books or DVD?

I’m thinking of learning but I’m not sure if I should get lessons or if I could learn with a book. I play guitar hero left handed and I’ll problly have to get used to right handed what do you think?

  1. Wayne W says:

You could get a left-handed guitar, but you would run into a problem of chord charts being backward, which might slow you down a bit. Or, like Dick Dale, you could play a left-handed guitar that is strung as if it were right-handed. This would put your low E string closer to the floor, but chords would be correct.
