A lot of “simple” blues use an open tuning, such as “D” or “A.” The strings are plucked with your finger tips instead of using a pick. This helps to get that “full” blues sound. Try looking up some early Chicago blues stuff and go from there. Example: Hard Times Killing Floor by Skip James. This song was covered by Chris Thomas King for the sound track to, O Brother Were Art Thou.

Go to YouTube and put in guitar lessons – there are loads
Check out Stefan Grosman he plays fingerpicking blues with and without bottleneck.
No difference with the way it is played on an electric. I mean, your guitar has the same 6 strings, same tuning, etc…
Here is a good site for blues, from beginer to advanced….. Enjoy

A lot of songs with chord patterns can be found on http://www.chordie.com. Look through the songbook collections, or by artist, or by song. Not all songs are there, but you can find many.
Blues was acoustic before electric was on the scene. It should not be a problem. I know some working blues guitarists that do not use an electric at all. One friend is such a purist he just will not do it. He will go as far as playing a resonator, lol. He makes a pretty darn decent living as an acoustic (blues) guitarist.
