Is it normal for the note that I have hammered-on to or pulled-off to to be MUCH quieter than the strummed note, and will this eventually improve? I have only been practicing these techniques for two days. Thanks so much! Bookmark it: Read more...
I just bought an acoustic guitar today, I’ve always had a love for music and instruments; I played the piano for a couple years when I was younger. At the age of 21, can I pick up a guitar and learn how to play well? Can hard work pay off? or am I too late in the game? Bookmark it: Read more...
i know i will have to use a pick eventually but does it help to first practice with my thumb so i can get used to my fingers on frets and chords? cuz i bought two books and one book told me to practice with my thumb first cuz i need to focus on my left hand (the non strumming hand) and its finger positions. the other book starts with teaching me with a pick. which way is the most effective and with help me learn the guitar better? thanks! I recently purchased an acoustic guitar, and I am starting to learn how to play. I was told that Mel Bay books are excellent for beginners who are just learning to play. Do you recommend any other books? If you have any other advice for a beginner like me who is just starting to play, please don’t hesitate to include that information in your answer. I’ve been playing electric guitar for around 3 years as a hobby, and I’ve got to the point where I think I should start thinking about scales? I usually play heavy metal (Priest, Maiden, Metallica, etc) and was wondering what are the best scales to begin learning? Major, minor, harmonic, melodic, pentatonic, there’s so many to pick from. Any recommendations and tips for making this task easier? Thanks (Please don’t recommend tutorials, lessons or Read more...
