When learning the guitar, is it better to start out learning one song or better to learn all the chords?

I have an acoustic guitar. I have been learning Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here piece by piece. I was curious if this is a good approach to take in learning how to play. If I want to learn to play guitar, am I better off starting with classical or acoustic?

I really don’t know the difference. Would for learning purposes it be easier to start off on a classical guitar. Is the only difference in the neck width and the type of strings. At the moment I am only playing tabulature. Yesterday I learnt two new songs – Hurt by Johnny Cash and Behind Blue eyes by Limp Bizkit.
