Should I get a half stack guitar amplifier? Advice needed please?

Posted by admin on 27th April 2011 in Guitar Playing Tips

I’ve been playing guitar for over a year, self-taught until now. I’ve gotten pretty good. I play for hours a day. I have 3 guitars, each atleast $400. I take lessons to get even better as well. I can play a lot of material, mainly heavy metal. I am 17. My amp I have now is decent, a 75w line 6 combo. I played a B52 half stack a month ago. It’s $499 but $200 off because it’s recently discontinued. The gain was great, it sounded great, I loved it. I Read more...

How do you tune your guitar down half a step?

Posted by admin on 22nd January 2011 in Guitar Playing Tips

If it makes a difference I do have a capo and an electric tuner. I want to learn to play “Somewhere out there” by Our Lady Peace. The guitar tabs say to tune down half a step, but I have no idea what that means. I also haven’t found any tutorial videos or clear tabs to follow yet. Help? Thanks and God bless.
