So im a musician and am looking at the Ephiphone Les Paul Standard guitar, but i need advice.?

And i need advice, am i getting a good deal. it says one there they normally go for $1,082. and are on sale. would it be better if i got one off ebay. the used ones normally go for $200. How does one double strum a guitar? What’s the standard in strumming the upward strings?

So I’m a newbie guitar player, and I’m starting-off on my own… for a bit. I’m trying to get the basics. So say I playing my D Cord. Is it alright if my guitar is one octave lower then standard tuning?
