Will putting a sticker under my guitar strings effect the way it sounds at all?

Posted by admin on 16th November 2011 in Advanced

You know how like, Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day has stickers all over his guitar. I just print mine and then cut them out with scissors, then glue them onto my guitar. If I put a sticker in between the pickups on my guitar under the strings, would it effect the sound at all? Thanks in advance. Bookmark it: Read more...

How do you prevent acoustic guitar strings from popping?

Posted by admin on 10th November 2011 in Advanced

I’m playing around with altered tunings (non-EADGBe), like Andy McKee or Don Ross songs, and every time I try to change tuning, I pop a string. The last one popped when I was REDUCING tension, not raising. Is there any way to either prevent or help reduce broken guitar strings? Tips of any sorts? Strings to buy? Thanks in advance. What strings to use on my new Ozark resonator?

Posted by admin on 4th October 2011 in Blues Guitar Tips

Ok well I bought a resonator guitar from a local music shop, put a deposit on it, and I’m picking it up tommorow, as I’ve never owned a resonator guitar before I don’t know what strings to ask for?! I’ve been playing guitar on a regular acoustic/electric for about 4 years and play almost nothing but Chicago style blues with a bit of jazz in there, so I need strings that’ll allow me to slide (with fingers, not slider) very easily, like normal Read more...
