My guitar hurts my strumming wrist. What do I do?

I have a Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom. I have had it for about a year, and recently I have found that the edges are very sharp. This hurts my strumming wrist, as I have the top part of the body of my guitar at about belt-height so I can sing and play. What should I do about this? Should I sell it and get a different guitar?
